Deb’s Retreat to Egypt - Oct 2024

THE JOURNEY BEGINS…

As this was my first time traveling to Egypt, I wasn’t sure what experiences I would have, so I didn't hold any expectations. However, I did set the intention to be open to receive any energetic activations, downloads of knowledge, guidance, or healing available to me during group rituals/meditations and my visits to the ancient temples.

I especially sought to deepen my relationship with the Neteru (Ancient Egyptian Gods/Goddess), especially Goddess Sekhmet, the protector of the conscious living Sekhem energy I so often work with.  By the end of the trip, it was Hathor, Anubis, Sekhmet and Isis that really stepped forward to meet me and give me very memorable personal experiences.

The retreat started in Cairo, moved on to Luxor where I boarded a Dahabeah (Egyptian Nile River Sailboat) and traveled up the Nile toward Aswan. Along the way there were many stops to sacred temples, mosques, churches, and shopping. From Aswan back to Cairo and ending at the Great Pyramid and on the sands of the Giza plateau.

I selected a some of my favorite pictures to share. Enjoy!

Nile River Views, Cairo - taken from the Four Seasons First Residence Hotel where I stayed. Beautiful!

Great Egyptian Museum (GEM), Cairo - This museum opened to the public in Feb 2023, although not fully, as they are still adding pieces. There are some very beautiful statues of Goddess Sekhmet, that I really connected with. This was the first time I felt her living energy in a statue. The GEM is located on the Giza plateau, so you can see the pyramids from the n upper level of the museum.

The Step Pyramid of Djoser, Sakkara - located south of Cairo on the West Bank of the Nile. The Step Pyramid is one of the first attempts at building the pyramid shape we know of today at Giza. You can enter this pyramid to see the resting place of King Djoser. A powerful place filled with ancient energies of ritual and ceremony.

Temples of Karnak, Luxor - considered one of the largest temples in the world. The complex contains many great temples in honor of Gods Amon, Khonso and Ptah, and Goddesses Mut and Sekhmet. Also, the home of the sacred, and very powerful, living statue of Goddess Sekhmet.

Luxor Temple, Luxor - monumental statues, gateways, obelisks, and courtyards. Massive and magical, especially at night.

Dendera Temple or the Temple of Hathor - This was one of my favorite temples. I adore goddess Hathor as she is the Mother of love, joy and pleasure. Her temple held the best feeling, highest vibrational energies and the hieroglyphs were still well preserved to include color. A must visit temple if you’ve not been there yet.

Temple of Sety I, Sacred City of Abydos - Abydos was the primary center to worship God Osiris, the god of the underworld. The Osireion, a subterranean structure, was built as a symbolic tomb for Osiris. This temple contains some of the oldest known examples of Ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs.

Temple of Goddess Isis, Aswan - this beautiful temple of Goddess Isis is on Philae Island. We took a small boat to get there and held a private, sacred ceremony pre-dawn. The views were breathtaking and energies magical.

The Great Pyramid, Giza Plateau - The Great Pyramid, one of the Seven wonders of the world. We entered the pyramid pre-dawn, climbed our way to the Queens chamber and then to the Kings chamber where we held a private activation ceremony. Afterward, I took a slow walk along the sands of the plateau on camel back. One of my favorite days!
